Award celebration
Proud winners of the Singapore Sustainability Awards 2015: (From left to right) Mr Ho Meng Kit, Chief Executive Officer, Singapore Business Federation; Mr Alan Lee, Executive Chairman, Elmich Pte Ltd; Mr Masagos Zulkifli in Masagos Mohamad, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources

Alan Lee is the founder and Executive Chairman of Elmich Pte Ltd, alwitra’s partner in Singapore.

alwitra: “Why did Elmich decide to use alwitra and EVALON® 20 years ago?”

Alan Lee: “Elmich wanted a water vapour permeable, high solids and bitumen-compatible membrane with homogeneous joints. And as it has to be of high quality, Germany was the first place to look for this membrane. Three full days were spent at the Dach+Wand expo meeting various manufacturers and collecting their samples and brochures. Of the manufacturers we subsequently contacted, alwitra was our first choice and coincidentally it was also the first company that responded to our initial approach. Joachim Gussner has been on a business trip to Japan at this time and immediately changed his plans to meeting us at Singapore. This engagement is  typical for alwitra.”

alwitra: “What do you value the most in the 20-year cooperation?”

Alan Lee: “The cordial relationship between alwitra and Elmich, the excellent technical and marketing support and the team spirit which enables open discussions and prompt responses to all major and minor issues.”
