The Southeast Asian city-state of Singapore is known for its very restrictive requirements, especially in environmental protection, and has been awarded several times as the “greenest city in Asia” (according to the Asian Green City Index). The government of Singapore is pursuing the ambitious goal of connecting the building stock more closely with the natural tropical environment. Every sealed square meter of ground must be replaced as facade greening or green roofs.
