The homogeneous waterproofing layer of the synthetic roofing and waterproofing membrane EVALON® forms the core of the proven and tested system. With its high polymer alloy of ethylene vinyl acetate terpolymer (EVA) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) it is installed as a single-ply waterproofing in all climatic zones of the world. The high percentage of high polymeric solids ensures consistent properties and an extremely long service life of the 150 million square metres of membranes installed by now. At the same time, the bright and smooth surface is dirt-repellent and reflects heat radiation. EVALON® is resistant to root and rhizome penetration according to current FLL testing and suitable for direct application on green roofs without any additional root protection layer.
Depending on the roof build-up and usage, EVALON® roofing and waterproofing membranes are available as EVALON® V with a polyester fleece backing, as EVALON® VG with a glass/polyester fleece backing and as EVALON® VSK/VGSK with backing and a lower self-adhesive coating. Due to its integrated fire-retarding layer, the self-adhesive membrane EVALON® VGSK provides additional safety and advanced functionality. It is applied directly onto unbacked EPS insulation boards with full-size adhesive bonding.
Because of their bitumen compatibility, all EVALON® membranes are demonstrably suitable also for roof refurbishment. And, of course, they can be installed directly on any standard roof insulation material or any other traditional building material without additional separation layer. The EVALON® membranes are homogeneously welded using hot air or solvent welding agent. In addition to the CE marking as roofing and waterproofing membranes according to EN 13956 and EN 13967, for all EVALON® membranes comprehensive Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), issued by the renowned Institute Bauen und Umwelt (IBU) e.V., are available. In addition, for the EVALON® roof waterproofing system, alwitra has compiled and verified all necessary data for being included into the international certification systems LEED and BREEAM. The wide range of accessories and preformed details for professional installation of typical individual roof structures ensures practical and reliable handling. It includes e.g. EVALON® self-adhesive flashing sheets, proprietary alwitra rainwater and emergency outlets as well as vent stacks, collars and preformed details for roof penetrations and coated metal sheets. Using corresponding pre-fabricated flashing collars, all flat roof windows and rooflights of the comprehensive alwitra daylight systems can also be installed fast and easily.
